guide for the uninitiated

Can you recommend a reference to explain the terms used in this article? I find myself searching google about twice per paragraph. For instance, when you say "...characteristic of populations with a large, stable Ne at mutation-drift equilibrium." What does that mean? Better yet, maybe you could add notes to the various bits of jargon (highlight text, add note). Would make what appears to be an important and interesting article more understandable to those of us who don't study population genetics for a living.
