Unmasked beta-glucans
The dectin-1 beta-glucan receptor is critical for the recognition of fungi by innate cells. This fluorescent deconvolution micrograph shows soluble dectin-1 staining of unmasked beta-glucans (red) on Aspergillus fumigatus germinating swollen conidia.
