Systemic acquired resistence in wild type Arabidopsis

Transcriptional reprogramming characterizes systemic acquired resistance in wild-type Arabidopsis plants. Upregulated genes are shown in red and downregulated genes in green. This reprogramming is dramatically blocked in the npr1 mutant, leading to enhanced disease susceptibility against multiple pathogens, including Pseudomonas syringae. WRKY transcription factors involved in this regulation are characterized. (See Wang et al)
